Mayweather: I'm truly blessed to be a future Hall-of-Famer

MANILA, Philippines - Undefeated American boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. believes his victory over Victor Ortiz adds another chapter to his storied career.
Mayweather knocked out Ortiz in the 4th round to maintain his undefeated record and win the WBC welterweight championship.
"It just adds to my legacy. I'm truly blessed to be a future Hall-of-Famer," Mayweather said in an interview with ESPN Los Angeles.
"I'm just adding pieces to the puzzle, so I go down as one of the best fighters to ever live," he added.
Mayweather also defended the controversial ending to the match.
The 4th round saw Ortiz headbutt Mayweather, causing referee Joe Cortez to duck a point from the younger fighter. Ortiz quickly apologized to Mayweather, even kissing him on the cheek.
After being warned by Cortez, Ortiz moved to hug Mayweather again. But after the hug, Mayweather unleashed a 1-2 combo that dropped Ortiz.
"Things happen in this sport. Protect yourselves at all times," Mayweather said. "We touched gloves, he stepped back, and it was open season. I hit him with a hook and then the right hand."
Mayweather's knockout punch was deemed legal by the referee.
"We came together, we touched gloves. It's fight time. You hit me and 2 minutes later we are friends? This is the hurt business," Mayweather said in the post-fight press conference.
Mayweather added his victory shows the sport of boxing is very much alive.
"We're keeping the sport alive. I'm just showing the world that boxing is a clean sport as far as random urine testing. He (Ortiz) agreed to every thing, I agreed to everything," Mayweather said.
"I'm the face of boxing so I want to clean this sport up," he added.
