On April 9, 2015, Taylor Swift posted a photo of her and mother. The “Style” Taylor singer took to her Tumblr this morning, April 9, with an emotional letter to her fans announcing that her loving mother Andrea Finlay has cancer.
We totally respect the 26-year-old singer’s decision to keep the details about her mom’s condition out of the public sphere. We’re sure she only decided to tell the fans just because Andrea has always been a huge part of her daughter’s professional life. These two have been inseparable ever since T-Swift came on the scene over a decade ago with Andrea showing up to her talk show appearances as well as heading out on tour with her uber talented kiddo.
In addition, Taylor has taken a break from writing about ex-boyfriends in the past and praised her relationship with her mom in song with “The Best Day” off her Fearless album. It’s almost impossible to not get teary-eyed and nostalgic listening to this track — especially after knowing the latest news.
