Super Typhoon Vongfong to Hit Japan October 12, 2014 - Updates

Super Typhoon Vongfong threatened to hit Japan on October 12, 2014 according to JTWC. Vongfong has 260kph of winds and 314kph gustness as of October 8.

Japan official started to prepare the impact of the strongest typhoon of the year and everyone are advised to take necessary precautions and evacuate as early as possible.

The tropical cyclone is expected to reach its peak Wednesday and pack maximum sustained winds of 260 kilometers per hour and gusts reaching 314 kph before it slams into southern Japan.

To compare, super typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) had one-minute maximum sustained winds of 230 kph and 315kph gusts just before it caused havoc in the Philippines.
