Miss Universe 2011 : Oprah Says Shamcey Supsup Should Have Won

Gather reported today that Oprah Winfrey made a statement to NBC that Miss Philippines Shamcey Supsup should have been the winner from last night’s 60th Miss Universe Pageant held in Sao Paulo, Brazil.  They picked it up from a blog which didn’t state any authenticity to the statement nor provided a link to its source. The statement goes like this:
“I have reservations with the results. If the only basis is the Q and A portion, after having been trimmed down to 5, Ms. Philippines deserved to win. What made her different from the rest is that she had no seconds to rethink of her answer as she had no interpreter to break the ice. The rest had their interpreters and having breaks on seconds to think about their answers. Hands down, Ms. Philippines answered straight to the point.”
Apparently, no one can verify its authenticity and no valid publications out there, including the NBC.com website confirmed that the statement was true and accurate or whether it was truly stated by the Billionaire Talk Show Host.
It is now being deemed a HOAX and should not be spread around on Twitter or Facebook as fact.  Blogs from here to Timbuktu have picked up the statement as if it was authentic.
Sorry guys.   This was definitely a hoax. Miss Angola Leila Lopes won the pageant and was crowned Miss Universe 2011 last night as predicted by yours truly.
