Korean college student dies after playing online games for seven hours

Seoul (The Korea Herald/ANN) - A 27-year-old college student collapsed in a PC room in Busan after playing online games for seven consecutive hours.
The student surnamed Kim was quickly taken to nearby hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
"I shook him when he fell forward while playing games but he was not conscious," a man sitting next to Kim told the Yonhap news agency.
The police said that Kim had played online games for straight seven hours from 10:40 a.m. Sitting for that long could have formed a blood clot in his lungs and led to his death, they said. He had been taking medicine for hypothyroidism for 10 years.
Investigators said Kim was a senior at a Busan college and was taking time off from his studies to look for a job.
"Kim showed up in PC rooms frequently after telling his family that he is looking for jobs," an official told Yonhap.
